Democratic Candidate Challenges GOP Frontrunner in PA Governor’s Race on Jan. 6 ‘Insurrection’ Grounds

A Democratic state candidate is trying to disqualify outspoken Trump supporter Pennsylvania state Senator Doug Mastriano from the state governor’s race because he allegedly participated in an “insurrection” against the U.S. government. A new poll by the Trafalgar Group shows Mastriano is leading the field of nine candidates seeking the Republican nomination for governor of the Keystone State, garnering 21.9 percent support, local media reported. Mastriano, whom some call “mini Trump,” is ahead of former U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Pa.) who is polling 18.8 percent support, followed by former federal prosecutor Bill McSwain at 17.4 percent, and businessman Dave White at 11.4 percent. ...
