Hatch Foundation announced his death: “Senator Hatch passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by family.” No cause of death has been specified. He is survived by his wife Elaine and their six children. Hatch served as a senator from 1977 to 2019—over four decades—under eight presidents, ending with President Donald Trump’s first two years in office.
