Joel Etienne, a Toronto-based lawyer and Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) candidate for York Centre in the 2021 federal election, questions whether his disqualification is related to his work defending human rights abuse victims of communist China. He also wonders if decision-makers are trying to have a certain composition of candidates on the ballot so that their “favourite candidate” can win.
